@NLaughingfox@site_42 Thank you, I really appreciate the rare civil conversations like this, opposed to the hate festering of the modern day. You can’t really get anywhere if your point is “[insert] is bad and is [slur]!”
@StereotypeCommi@Lukassione@alleyrat8 I thought I was non binary and wanted my genitals removed when i was young like a decade ago then I grew up and realised “this is actually miserable I’m going back”. It fucks with the young’s brain development.
@neophytesan@Derangeddoomer Scp used to be a niche community with dedicated fans, now it’s just common knowledge polluted by slop. And I’m not talking about “the gays ruined the platform!” The old community got pushed away, and now we have to endure the new and worse,
@C1kt0r1A@NLaughingfox@site_42 Obviously experiences vary between individuals but in my experience y'all are pretty easy to just leave be. Point is valid though there are definitely situations where it is hard to ignore.
@souseinokamiedn@site_42 Yeah I was gonna say that it would be in character for the SCP foundation to pretend support no issues there. My original comment was in response to Sherman’s post, which I argue has unnecessarily highlighted a minority in the community which opens routes to hate and alienation.
@NLaughingfox@site_42 I agree, but I think Sherman shouldn’t have made this post, as it attracted the insufferable side of twitter as this kind of post usually does. I’m confident in saying most of us don’t mind trans people, but just as we do, they should just exist statically without a huge notice.
@site_42 Adding onto this, the SCP community has never been a place primarily to advocate for rights for many of us, it is mainly a fun community to share creative works and projects. Support for minority rights and rights in general is important but it isn’t the crux of this community.
@site_42 Why is it now being plastered onto the entire community itself though? Isn’t the SCP symbol supposed to represent the entire community and not a singular group? I’ll have to explain this better with multiple replies, but to summarise it removes the community aspects to a degree
