What if we could grow artificial neural networks (ANNs) beyond their limits?

Last week the team overcame a neural growth problem.

What was the problem?

ANN training works with a trainer picking a synapse and increasing its weight with three options: -1,0,+1.

But if that synapse is at +1 how can we increase it if +2 is inadmissible?

The solution:

We clone it. This would allow us to have two +1s, giving us +2. The same can also be done to make -2.
