The older I get, the more I realise that sleep and general physical fitness are the true foundation for an optimal existence, it's no longer optional for me, it's the cornerstone.
When you're well rested, you think clearer, you make better decisions, you don't chase the cat, the entice it to you through cognitive coherence.
When you train your body in disciplines like running, you forge both physical and mental resilience which contribute to managing difficult and potentially detrimental situations with a calm assertiveness.
You can't do this when sleep deprived and operating on caffeine, sugar and dumb luck.
