Here’s a story you won’t see trending on CNN, The New York Times, or any legacy outlet, because it doesn’t fit the narrative they like.
Roger Borkum was 64.
He survived 9/11 by pure chance. He was laid off from the 77th floor of the North Tower six weeks before the planes hit. Every coworker he had that day died.

He never got over it. Then in 2009 his wife Celeste, who spent her life helping the poorest people in Africa, was murdered by the very people she was trying to save.

Roger broke. He disappeared from his family and lived homeless on the streets of Jacksonville for the last 15 years.

On October 19, 2025, three teens ages 12, 16, and 19 saw him sleeping on the sidewalk.

They came back three separate times in one hour to kick and stomp him in the head.
Fire rescue checked on him twice and left. The third beating killed him. He died four days later in the hospital.

If the races were reversed and if three white teens had done this to a 64-year-old Black homeless man, the footage would be everywhere, protests would be organized, and politicians would be on every channel.

But Roger was white, and his killers are black, so most of America will never hear his name.

He was somebody’s brother, somebody’s uncle, somebody’s husband.

He was a quiet, kind man who already beat death once and still tried to keep going.
