Just watching Michael Saylor get feisty on 'What Bitcoin Did' - I may never sleep again. . . and I'm only 40 minutes in... Wow. This man is too beautiful.
@asjwebley@hannahprevett@dominicoc I noted that you have not yet developed the Saylor sigh. Very well managed. Thank you. This interview is the first time I have truly felt that 'we are early'.
Happy to see BHodl take some prizes - any attention on the sector is good for $SWC.
The goal I am most interested in, however, is seeing $SWC bigger than Halfords again.
Are You Hurting Right Now?
I remember the first time I bought in at a peak and watched the price jump up for a week, ignoring calls to sell it all, only to watch it tumble to depths that never felt possible. I spent three days in shock. Sat on my bed, literally rocking. I couldn't function. I couldn't eat. Couldn't sleep. I didn't know how this could have happened. One minute I was surfing islandsforsale and the next I didn't know how I was gonna pay the bills. Worse - I'd told all my friends to get in and the phone was ringing off the hook. Dreams dashed.
All around me, psychopaths were telling me to buy the dip. I did. Once. And then it dropped some more. And I stayed there, rocking on the bed for a few more days.
I mention this as we've all been there. And the share price has been nasty. Maybe you got in at the IPO and thought you would have 6 private jets by Xmas. Maybe you bought the absolute top. Or perhaps somewhere in the middle. Either way, know you are not alone in hurting. Know that even early buyers tend to measure the drop from the top, rather the steep rise from the bottom.
So some advice from someone who has been there before. Take agency. It will make you feel better. Luckily we have some great analytical tools at our fingertips.
So to hold $SWC you must believe in the premise that $BTC is a superior store of value. If you don't - go learn about it now. You must also believe that @asjwebley and @Croesus_BTC have the ability to raise money to buy it that is greater than your own. To measure this you can use the 'sats per share' stat and multiply this by the amount of shares you hold. This is the number you should be tracking. So stop rocking and make sure you know what your 'raw' position is. And now make a plan. If you look at the information you have to hand, you should deduce that Bitcoin goes up over time and that $SWC is only 5% of the way thru a 10 year plan, and what they have achieved so far is incredible.
And it's annoying that all around you, people are posting about how excited they are when you are rocking with fear. They are hurting too, but they know it's a rollercoaster, and they are in it for the long haul. They have found conviction. And they have made a plan for that. And you can too.
My plan (FWIW) is a small weekly DCA beneath my initial buy (original buy was circa £3 - now down to £2.04). And this doesn't hurt as I have conviction in the company, in Andrew and Jesse executing the 10 year plan, and in Bitcoin going up over time.
You should also deduce that you will not have 6 private jets by Xmas.
But with patience, you will have an enviable position in a company that people say 'you are so lucky' to have.
We have a wonderful community here - so no need to lash out when we hit those dips, we're all there with you.
But it's all about the sats. So go calculate your wealth in the asset that we all care about.
Stay happy. CJ x
ps. the stock I bought into at a peak was Amazon (I hear it's doing pretty well nowadays)
It turns out the best time to buy $SWC will be 6th November.
I discovered this today when my kids arrived for Sunday lunch and declared this the peak date based on my top tips in the past.
Apparently I am a pretard.
The definition, they explained, was someone who tended to be right, but early enough to be hideously wrong in the short term.. like when I suggested BTC at 30k in the bear and hey watched their quids drop by 50%.
So they are waiting a few weeks before they add to their bags. I'm still going to be buying a handful tomorrow.
Because that's what pretards do.
