While we are as excited as everyone else about the potential of generative AI and AI agents, we remain optimistically cautious about their applications in fully managed investment strategies, as mentioned before.

The reason is simply: we much prefer certainty over uncertainty when it comes to trading. Deterministic backtests, deterministic rule-based models, and deterministic trade execution algorithms mean that we can deliver deterministic results to our users, with full confidence. Much of the cutting-edge AI involves layered non-linearity which is not great for model explainability. This may be acceptable when things are going well in a strategy fully managed by AI; but when things start going wrong, debugging would be extremely complex. We do not want our users to be exposed to this risk. We take pride in responsible stewardship of our users' capital and we want to confidently deliver both the expected upside and protected downside to our users.

This is not to say we are against any applications of AI in our investment process. In fact, we heavily leverage AI tools when researching new opportunities, developing our algorithms, and producing certain trading signals. We simply think there's still a lot of work to be done before we can have AI take over the driver seat fully without human gatekeepers.
