BLACKROCK TRANSFERS CLARIFICATION:

BlackRock holds Bitcoin with Coinbase Prime, which custodies their Bitcoin in addresses holding no more than 600 BTC. On-chain data shows they are splitting these 600 BTC addresses into addresses holding no more than 300 BTC, hence the movements from BlackRock 24 hours ago.

We label these new addresses as soon as we reasonably confirm that this is the case.

Entities like Blackrock that custody huge amounts of crypto often move assets into fresh wallets when restructuring their custody setup. When the assets are split evenly amongst many addresses, as happened here, it is a strong indicator that it’s just a custody restructuring.

Beware of bad analysis.
