De feiten liegen er niet om: onderzoeken in landen met uitgebreide verzorgingsstaten, zoals Nederland, Denemarken en Zweden, laten zien dat bepaalde groepen niet-westerse migranten de schatkist per saldo miljarden kosten. Dat is geen mening, maar een terugkerende conclusie uit diverse studies naar de fiscale gevolgen van migratie.

De economie stort niet in zonder massale laagopgeleide immigratie. Hoogopgeleide arbeidsmigranten en mensen die daadwerkelijk bijdragen aan de samenleving zijn welkom. Maar doen alsof elke vorm van immigratie automatisch economisch gunstig is, heeft weinig met feiten en veel met ideologie te maken.

Het echte probleem is dat een deel van het debat wordt gedomineerd door multiculturele dogma's, waardoor economische kosten, integratieproblemen en de druk op de verzorgingsstaat nauwelijks bespreekbaar zijn.

Tijd om zelf wakker te worden.
