@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar The rights of husbands, brothers, and sons can be shared/explained by Shaykh. You need to reanalyze your initial comment. It didn’t include anything about non-religious vs religious or moral vs immoral men. You just saying Ghayrah is used to tell women what to do.
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar That is not a weak argument, you brought in qualifications. A “drunken Muslim” man is a paradox, and that individual would not care about his wife’s attire. You’re making a lot of generalizations.
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar So then you are claiming no man is religious. No man is abiding by Islamic law (not perfection because no human is perfect) and striving towards Islamic morals.
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar Imagine going out in the blazing sun, and someone tells you to put on sunblock to protect against sunburn. Do I not take their advice because they are “without the qualifications”? There is such a thing as common knowledge, and can be shared although one isn’t a scholar.
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar Not twisting your words, I am making a conclusion based on your words, when you said “In short yes” after I asked if no man has authority to comment on attire even if it’s inappropriate. Then you decide to claim if you aren’t religious you have no right to “coerce” a woman…
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar Common sense. Now you are claiming that no man is religious? Foremost, Do not generalize based on a small sample size. Second, coercing women towards modesty is not just an Islamic principle. Modesty is a part of all religions. Note: Ghayrah isn’t just an Islamic concept
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar Then you need to reassess what ghayrah means along with rights of men as well. You claim less clothing doesn’t equate to freedom but if a man tells his loved one of indecent attire, he is out of place for “controlling” her. Men have no right to tell women anything: makes sense.
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar Now, you are delving into another topic all together. Who has a moral authority then to correct inappropriate attire? What are the requirements in your eyes of moral authority? So a man has no authority to comment on attire although it may be obviously inappropriate?
@Seyyedaseyyeda@ShaykhAzhar That I agree with, but your mention of telling women how to dress typically addresses the desire for men to have their loved ones dress in modesty. In today’s society, finances are jointly shared (shared accounts, etc).
