Everyone agrees NFTs are dead. The #1 collection on @MagicEden just did 5.07K SOL in volume — more than DeGods, Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, SMB Gen2 and y00ts combined.

Dead markets don't do that. Ignored ones do.

Six collections out of 1,700+ clear $1M in weekly volume. Six. People read that as a eulogy. It's a coiled spring. In books this thin you don't need new capital to double a floor — you need one wallet to stop being scared. @BoredApeYC went from ~5 ETH to over 10 in a single month this spring and barely anyone noticed, because everyone had already unfollowed.

And every asset you currently worship printed this exact obituary first.

BTC 2011: -93%. Two years old. "Toy for criminals."
ETH 2019: -94%. Three years old. "ICO scam machine."
SOL 2022: -96%. Two years old. "FTX zombie chain."

Same drawdown. Same certainty. Same people. All three went on to new highs and the doubters wrote none of it down.

Meanwhile collectibles — the actual category NFTs live in — are printing record highs. Trading cards are a $9B market and growing. Pokemon averages up 46% YoY, chase cards doing 200-500%. Demand for scarce collectible objects has never been higher in human history.

The entire NFT market is $1.9B. One fifth the size of cardboard.

And consider the age gap. People have collected coins for two thousand years. Stamps since the 1840s. Baseball cards since the 1880s. Pokémon since 1996 — thirty years, one crash in the early 2000s, one mania in 2021, one brutal correction, and now all-time highs.
NFTs as a mainstream category are five years old. CryptoPunks are nine.
A five-year-old format got one bull market, one winter, and a death certificate. Cardboard needed three decades to get where it is. You are not looking at a failed category. You are looking at a toddler being judged on its first bad year.

Read that again. The digital-native version of a booming category trades at a fifth of the analog one, with instant settlement, global liquidity, provable scarcity, and zero shipping. That gap does not stay open forever.

The infrastructure already capitulated. Nifty Gateway gone, Reddit out, Nike dumped RTFKT, OpenSea would rather be a token exchange. Operators quit last, always — they need years of dying revenue before they finally fold. Their surrender prints after the sellers are gone.

The last cycle bottomed within days of FTX.

Everybody owns the "NFTs are dead" position. Consensus that total, in a market this small, isn't a conclusion.

It's an entry.
