THORChain Incident Update #8
The churn is now underway, representing the most significant milestone in the recovery process so far.
Most vaults were confirmed safe through the KeyVerify protocol, and the churn handled the rest by retiring the old vaults and setting up fresh ones. The network has now rotated to a new set of vaults.
With signing back on, funds are migrating from the old vaults into the new ones. This is the final stretch before the network comes back online and trading resumes.
To be clear, trading is not live yet. It will resume once the migration is complete and trading is reactivated by the network.
More updates will be shared soon. Thank you for your continued patience and support.
The attack on @SecretNetwork using @axelar-bridged assets, was actually very clever.
The attacker created their very own Cosmos chain (with only one validator - themselves) and connected it to Secret. They then sent a bunch of fake deposit messages, with denoms mimicking real tokens (e.g. axlUSDC etc).
However, and here's where things went wrong, Secret didn't verify the source channel. There was no confirmation that the deposit truly came from the genuine Axelar chain.
Bridge in fake tokens, bridge out the real ones (to Osmosis etc).
Sorry for anyone losing assets here. It remains to be seen how many other chains will be affected by this.
Elon Musk got rejected by Netscape. He walked into the lobby, was too shy to talk to anyone, and walked out. Never got the job.
At his first company Zip2, the board demoted him. Twice. They refused to let him be CEO.
He got fired from PayPal as CEO while flying to his own honeymoon. The board voted him out mid air.
He almost died of malaria in 2000. Ten days in intensive care. Lost 45 pounds. A day from death.
His first child died at 10 weeks old.
His first rocket exploded. Falcon 1, flight one. Burned on the pad.
His second rocket exploded.
His third rocket exploded. The last of his money was nearly gone.
Tesla nearly went bankrupt in 2008. The closest he ever came to a nervous breakdown.
Both companies almost died on the same Christmas Eve.
He was sued by investors. Mocked by the people who built cars before him.
His childhood heroes, the astronauts who inspired him, testified against his company to Congress.
The Cybertruck window shattered on live stage in front of the world.
He overpaid for Twitter by his own admission and watched its value collapse.
He was beaten unconscious as a child and thrown down a flight of stairs.
He has said he goes to sleep alone and it kills him.
He failed in public, over and over, for thirty years.
He is the richest man in the history of the world.
The difference was never the absence of failure. It was the refusal to stop after it.
This AI just exposed the BIGGEST legal insider trading operation in America.
A platform called GovGreed built a seven-layer machine learning system that cross-references every stock trade disclosed by every sitting politician against the bills their committees control, the campaign donations they receive, and the companies their votes directly impact.
It scored all 540 politicians currently in Congress. And the numbers are crazy:
56% of every stock purchase made by Congress in the last 16 months was on a stock directly affected by a bill the buyer later voted on. That is 6,170 out of 11,016 total purchases.
More than HALF of all congressional stock buys are on companies whose fate that same politician is about to decide.
343 of 540 Congress members actively trade stocks while holding access to nonpublic legislative information.
That is 63.8% of the entire legislature making market bets with an informational edge that would put any hedge fund manager in prison.
The AI identified 752 active "Triple Signals" in the current Congress. A Triple Signal fires when three conditions line up at once:
The politician sits on the committee controlling a bill, they traded stock in a company affected by that bill, AND they received campaign contributions from that same industry.
Bills carrying these insider indicators pass at 5.4 TIMES the normal rate.
Now look at the individual leaderboard:
- Nancy Pelosi's estimated portfolio sits at $194 million with a Greediness score of 98.1 out of 100
- Ro Khanna made 13,231 trades across 800+ different tickers
- Michael McCaul made 32,302 trades and filed 6,670 of them late
- Thomas Suozzi filed 86.4% of his trades late with an average delay of 396 days, meaning his disclosures landed over a YEAR after he made the trade
And then there is Lisa McClain, the fourth-ranking Republican in the House. She has made 1,443 trades in three years, more than 98% of all politicians tracked.
She violated the STOCK Act twice in a single year, disclosing up to $900,000 in trades months after the legal deadline. Her husband bought up to $250,000 in Elon Musk's xAI, which quietly converted into SpaceX equity before last Friday's $2 trillion IPO.
The penalty for all of this? A $200 fine.
The number of Congress members ever prosecuted under the STOCK Act since it passed in 2012? Zero.
And the cruelest part is this:
A bill to ban congressional stock trading was introduced in January 2026. It has bipartisan support. Over 80% of American voters want it passed.
But Congress is sitting on it, because the people who would have to vote yes are the same people making millions from the system staying exactly the way it is.
They write the insider trading laws, they exempt themselves from enforcement, they trade on the information those laws generate, and when they get caught, they pay a fine that is basically nothing.
The AI didn't discover anything Congress was hiding. It just organized what was already public into a pattern so obvious that nobody can pretend it isn't there anymore.

HRF condemns Dutch immigration officers’ careless treatment on Thursday of prominent, award-winning Ugandan human rights activist Agather Atuhaire on Thursday at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, as she returned from the 2026 #OsloFreedomForum in Oslo. The treatment Atuhaire received triggered serious traumatic mental distress from her well-known May 2025 illegal detention and torture in Tanzania.
Luego llegó a París, ganó tres clasificatorios y siguió ganando. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nueve partidos seguidos.

Babylon is looking for a researcher! Let me know if you or your colleagues are interested. Here is a short blurb:
Babylon (https://t.co/6N9GMO1mbD) is a blockchain infrastructure startup founded by David Tse of Stanford and Fisher Yu, and backed by a16z, Paradigm, Polychain, and other leading investors. Babylon’s vision is to enable the trillion-dollar Bitcoin asset to be used trustlessly in the DeFi economy.
Babylon invented Bitcoin staking, now a live protocol with over $4 billion in BTC staked (https://t.co/pB2gwXDIFw). The team is currently focused on launching trustless Bitcoin vaults (https://t.co/0Q65iPrhTR), enabling native Bitcoin to be used as collateral in DeFi protocols such as Aave, without wrapping or bridging. This work is powered by BABE (CCS 2026), a proof-verification protocol for Bitcoin based on witness encryption and garbled circuits, achieving a 1000× cost reduction over the state of the art (https://t.co/5YopjydOd3).
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. in distributed consensus, cryptographic protocols, or a related area, and a strong interest in doing impactful research in the blockchain space. In this role, the Senior Researcher will work closely with Babylon’s engineering team as well as external research collaborators at a16z, Common Prefix and leading universities.
