David Chaum’s DigiCash launched the public trial in October 1994 a
Completely anonymous (blind signatures) hard-capped at exactly 1 million tokens total, and every early user got 100 free CyberBucks
Almost 30,000 people signed up at the time!
People were already trading them on primitive online markets, buying postcards, software, info services, and even physical goods years before Bitcoin existed
This was real digital cash living on hard drives in 1994–95.
