My guy who lives in the UK wanted to start his building project. He got a quotation from an engineer and everything came to about 140 million naira, excluding workmanship.
His elder brother is also an engineer so he reached out to him. The elder brother quoted 150 million naira. When asked about his profit margin, he said 10 to 15 million naira per project but would take only 3 to 5 million since it was family.
My friend said okay, requested his account details and sent him 3 million naira.
Then he gave the contract to the first engineer.
When the elder brother found out, he reported it to their mother. My friend told them plainly that he did not want to mix family with business and that the 3 million naira was already 60% of what his brother said he would have made.
The day the engineer arrived at the site with his crew to begin work, the elder brother showed up with th¥gs and d&str0yed the foundation.
My friend had him arr£sted for 3 days without food.
He never went near the site again until the building was completed.
His mother has refused to take his calls since then.
He is opening the house tomorrow. His elder brother and mother have both cut him off.
Above all, love God…” - A Nigerian man living in the United Kingdom (UK) has reportedly been cut off by his mother and elder brother after awarding a ₦140 million building contract to another engineer instead of his sibling.
@jon_d_doe This is why some can’t phantom the fact that someone can write appropriately. Therefore they result to insults and name calling. Myopic behavior
Saw the post and learned from it. Nonetheless i will spend on all my siblings and parents regardless. Once money comes it should reflect on them for 5 years before I concentrate on my own family.
If they reciprocate fine and if they don’t then it also fine. I will not come online crying about it.
That is the reason for individual differences in character and lifestyle
@jon_d_doe You can’t earn 100k per month and still be honest in that business.
This is a social engineering that force people into severe survival mode. This is why been honest in this country makes people hate you because the understand the conditions everyone is living on
A married man is angry with his wife and wants to make a decision.
Three years ago, he was in a financial mess and in debt due to some failed business deals.
He had to sell their only car to pay off some of the debt.
When his brothers-in-law got to know about his ordeals, they were not happy with the situation.
So they rallied to support him and bought another car for him.
He decided to set aside the business and started driving for Bolt/Uber with the car.
Through it, he was able to clear his debt and continued providing for his family. They have two children. Last Sunday, he was having a quarrel with his wife over an undisclosed issue.
Then he said, "I am the head of this home. I am grateful to God that I have good in-laws too, but I will not watch you disrespect me. I provide for you and the children the best I can."
Then his wife responded in a very rude way:
"Who would you have become if not for my brothers? Don't you also have brothers? What did they do for you?"
He said that he felt so cold after hearing what his wife said to him and that he now feels sudden hatred toward her.
He doesn't want to report her to her brothers, but he is no longer seeing his wife the same way.
He said that he cried that Sunday night because after she said that, he just left the house for a bar, where he cried in silence.
What is still painful to him is that his wife has still not apologized for what she said, and is going about her business like she did nothing.
He wants to quietly walk away from the marriage and go start his life somewhere else.
He will leave the car with her and abandon them to their fate. He doesn't feel the need to keep pushing for his family anymore because his wife has killed the man in him.
What would you advise him to do?
AJD.
I understand why those words hurt him. Sometimes, what breaks a person emotionally isn’t the struggle itself, but hearing something deeply hurtful from the person they expected to be their strongest source of support.
However, I would advise him not to make a permanent decision while he’s still hurting. His wife’s words were disrespectful, but abandoning his children would only create another problem, especially for the innocent children involved.
He should take some time to process his emotions, then have an honest conversation with his wife about the damage her words caused. He doesn’t have to involve her brothers, but she needs to understand that financial struggles and the help he received do not diminish his worth as a husband.
If she acknowledges the hurt, apologises sincerely, and both are willing to work on their marriage, healing may still be possible. If the disrespect continues and reconciliation becomes impossible, he can consider separation responsibly, with his children’s welfare at the centre.
A man can walk away from a marriage that has become unhealthy, but he should never walk away from his responsibility to his children.
Standing on Religious ground.
If Oyibo who stole the living hell out of Africa,
What on earth will make such oyibo reveal heaven with its wealth to us?
Religion is just another means of mind control.
Happy Sunday! 🙏🏽
Sometimes, the greatest blessing isn’t getting everything you prayed for.
Sometimes, it’s having the wisdom to recognise what isn’t good for you, the strength to walk away from what is destroying your peace, and the patience to wait for what is truly meant for you.
May this new week bring us wisdom, good health, peace of mind, and opportunities that improve our lives.
What’s one thing you’re praying for as you enter this new week?
