BitMex pioneered 100x perps in crypto back in 2014. Delivery futures existed before then, making Fridays hectic.

BTC deposits only, one chain only, withdrawals only once per day, through a multi-sig wallet. The constraints that seemed inconvenient kept them unhacked.

All four founders pled guilty to BSA violations a month before trial, after 18 months of fighting it. $10m fine each, home confinement. No one went to prison.

However, their business didn’t survive the “war on crypto” from the Biden admin.

EU och Nato skapade storhetsvansinne i Helsingfors. Fem miljoner människor som beter sig som en supermakt. Hotar Kina. Inför sanktioner mot Ryssland. Lär ut till världen.

Kina och Ryssland känner sig inte hotade. De anpassar sig. Finland isolerar sig.

Finland var neutralt. Välmående. Respekterat.

Sedan kom Ukraina och EU.

Nu är Finland bankrutt. Sönderslaget. Och ensamt.

Neutralitet var inte feghet. Det var visdom. Finland glömde det.

Smaller countries lose their veto power‼️

It is negative for smaller countries. One nation, one vote disappears. A few big players can then steamroll everyone else on sanctions, migration and trade, basically. Anything Brussels wants to push through, they get. Hungary just showed what happens when a small country keeps saying no. Now they’re trying to make sure no one else can do the same. It is the end of national sovereignty.

The deeper part is the timing. They waited until Orbán actually lost power before making the move. Now they’re using Hungary’s election as proof that “democracy is winning,” while quietly taking away the very mechanism that let Hungary keep saying no all these years.💫
