We have: 81 yes votes, growing bipartisan support, support of medical and civil rights orgs and ZERO opposition. The NYS Division of Human Rights determined non-consensual drug testing constitutes sex and pregnancy discrimination. NY needs the Assembly to pass these protections!
The Maternal Health, Dignity and Consent Act now has bipartisan support!
Thank you, Assemblymember Morinello, for your support on this legislation. Let’s get it over the finish line
Last night, Schuyler Center's President

This year the Maternal Health, Dignity and Consent Act is gaining real momentum after a year of setbacks. In 2026 we shouldn’t have to demand that healthcare providers are required to obtain informed consent before testing newborns and their mothers for drugs!
After 6 years of advocacy, Robin Hood helped catalyze:
🔹 Largest Child Tax Credit increase in NY history
