Growth requires accountability, curiosity, and the willingness to see things from another person’s point of view. I move through life with honesty, kindness, and self-awareness. I can accept that not everyone will understand me, but I will always make sure I understand myself.
Recently, I was called arrogant. Instead of immediately taking offense, I took a moment to reflect and ask myself: Is there something about me that I need to understand or improve? The truth is, I don’t see myself as an arrogant person.
This experience made me reflect on how often we become defensive when faced with another person’s perspective. Instead of listening to understand, we focus on how it makes us feel, making it easier to label others than reflect and acknowledge their feelings may be valid too.
I step back.
Not with anger, not with resentment, but with clarity.
Because I deserve to be in spaces where care is not forced, and consideration is not rare.
I have experienced what it feels like not to be considered, and it has stayed with me.
It's not always loud or obvious.
Sometimes, it shows up in the smallest ways. Being overlooked. Being an afterthought. Feeling like you’ve to explain your feelings just to be understood.

As I experience life, I lean more toward empathy, grace, compassion, and tolerance. I want to be seen as human with emotions. We can be direct and empathetic at the same time. I value gentleness, kindness, understanding, and space to be human. Sometimes, life asks for more grace.

Happy International Women’s Day!
To all the women holding power, making change, nurturing, leading, learning, unlearning, holding your hearts, taking steps back and forward, breaking, breathing, and rising again: you are seen, loved, valued, and celebrated today and every day.
Today, I’m choosing gratitude. I am thankful for my mom’s healing and the strength covering my family. This season reminded me that when life feels uncertain, faith, love, and unity matter most. We made it through, and that alone is a blessing. Thank you, God, for a new day.
We tend to forget to extend grace, especially when someone truly needs it. At times, we become so consumed with ourselves that we forget to pause and think of someone else. You can care for yourself and still give grace to others. Both can exist together.
