@BoyceKerstin@ReprtrPatHealey@RCMPNS If you have to rely on AI for area knowledge, then it's likely you aren't affected. A simple look at any map of Waverley Rd would have identified this location in red with the road closed.
Halifax Search and Rescue is here for our community in times of need. Whether it's supporting vulnerable residents during extreme weather, finding missing individuals, or assisting someone injured on a trail, we're ready to help. Learn more about Halifax SAR in this video!
Team members had a great time on Sunday at the @hfxfire Station 45 for their first Open House. Lots of great conversations were had with members of the public and other first responders.
We're already looking forward to next year's event!
#GSAR
Crews from Stn 45 Fall River and the surrounding area along with community partners from @EHS_NS@RCMPNS@HalifaxSAR and @CampCourageFRS hosted an amazing community event this weekend. Huge thanks to everyone that made this happen and the community members who came out!

@globalhalifax@HRMFireNews So all those who were issued fines for illegal burns should have their fines reversed then. If there is no criminality in lighting up an entire neighbourhood, a fire in a backyard that caused no loss/injury should not be punishable either. I see some litigation coming...
I guess all the snowplow operators overslept this morning. As of 630hrs this was the state of #Highway2 in #WellingtonNS. Not a single pass of a plow and one lane for inbound and outbound to share. Congrats @NS_PublicWorks for showing how useless your contractors are once again.
@denysprevost@HRMFireNews The alert is to make people aware. Same as Tweet, FB, radio and the option to someone who is not connected. If you know to be alert, then the mandate has been achieved.
@HRMFireNews Why is it necessary for people to know every time a siren goes by? If they are not involved, they should be glad. If it's someone they know, they will hear about it. You are doing an amazing service providing all you do as a public service!
In the 22-23 operational year, operational periods for HSAR rose by a staggering 179%. The team Exec (assisted by our incredible Logistics crew) recently hosted an appreciation BBQ for our members. Call-out after call-out, team members respond to support our community.
The municipality has opened two comfort centres for residents dealing with power outages and flooding.
Beaver Bank Community Centre and East Dartmouth Community Centre will remain open overnight.
Note this important message. As fire operations continue, avoid unnecessary travel. Allow first responders to focus on the most urgent needs. Follow the official channels for accurate and updated information.
Huge thanks to Sean Dewitt of @HfxMda for joining us today during the #SAREx. Sean is an amazing friend of the emergency services in #Halifax. We’re privileged to consider him one of our friends as well!
