Ministro, com respeito, sua mensagem revela exatamente por que a confiança no STF está em queda. Um juiz deve encarnar a imparcialidade. No entanto, o senhor celebra abertamente atos orquestrados pelo partido no poder, atos nos quais o próprio STF é exaltado como ator político. Isso não é independência judicial; é ativismo político.

E essas manifestações não são a “prova viva da força do povo brasileiro” que o senhor afirma. São espetáculos encenados. Em apenas 2 anos, Lula autorizou R$ 34,4 BILHÕES em projetos via Lei Rouanet — mais que o dobro do total dos 4 anos de Bolsonaro (~R$ 16 bi).

Estatais como Banco do Brasil, Caixa, Petrobras e BNDES aumentaram seus orçamentos de patrocínio cultural em +250% em 2024, injetando quase R$ 1 BILHÃO em shows e festivais.

Os mesmos artistas cujas carreiras dependem desse fluxo de recursos aparecem, de repente, como atrações principais em atos ditos “populares”.

A verdadeira democracia não precisa de shows coreografados com dinheiro público, nem de juízes aplaudindo o teatro político de um partido político. Precisa de justiça independente que aplique a lei com imparcialidade, acima da política.

Um convite ao “extremismo”.

Alexandre de Moraes and his allies are hinting that they will link @jairbolsonaro’s prison conditions to U.S. foreign policy decisions.

According to Brazilian press reports, Moraes had considered letting him serve his 27-year sentence under house arrest. After U.S. officials warned that the U.S. would have a strong response to his conviction, sources close to Moraes are signaling he will be sent to Papuda — a notoriously violent maximum-security prison — if the U.S. follows through with new sanctions.

Let that sink in. A Brazilian defendant’s treatment is being calibrated not by law or justice, but by the actions of the U.S. government. That is not rule of law. That is hostage diplomacy.

In every normal criminal justice system, punishment is tied to the defendant’s actions, not the political decisions of a foreign government. Adjusting the length, severity, or very nature of a sentence because of what another country does is unthinkable under the rule of law and basic principles of justice.

And this is not a one-off. Moraes has done it before.

• Ordered the detention of Meta’s top executive in Brazil when Facebook didn’t comply with his censorship demands.

• Froze Starlink and X’s bank accounts until they obeyed orders to block users — including those outside Brazil.

• Banned Rumble nationwide for refusing to violate U.S. law and take down lawful speech hosted on American servers.

If you believe in the rule of law, whatever you think of Bolsonaro, this should shock you to the core. A judge that punishes a defendant to send a political message abroad has crossed a line that no free nation should tolerate.

The political persecutions by sanctioned human rights abuser Alexandre de Moraes continue, as he and others on Brazil's supreme court have unjustly ruled to imprison former President Jair Bolsonaro.

The United States will respond accordingly to this witch hunt.

A U.S. citizen posted on X from her home in Florida. The speech didn’t violate X terms of service nor U.S. law but was highly critical of @LulaOficial and Brazil’s Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

Moraes responded with an arrest warrant and preventive detention order for that speech.

This is a real arrest warrant signed by Moraes. It orders the preventive detention a U.S. citizen, for posts she made on X from Florida and holding her indefinitely “to guarantee public order.”

Translation of the key section:

“Considering the noncompliance with prior orders to remove posts and the use of an international passport {i.e. her U.S. passport) to avoid enforcement of the law, preventive detention is necessary to guarantee public order.

Pursuant to Article 21 of the STF’s internal rules, I DECREE the preventive arrest of Flávia Magalhães Soares and order that she be taken into custody and held in prison until further judicial decision.”

This is a Supreme Court judge in a major democracy issuing an international arrest warrant for speech made under the protection of the U.S. Constitution.

If actions like this one go unanswered, every U.S. user posting from within the United States is one social media post away from having an international arrest warrant issued against them.
