We honor the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered the call in the years that followed, and the families who continue to carry the weight of that day.

Danbury’s City Council voted 18-2 to let non-citizens, including DACA recipients, serve as police officers.

The vote came right after ICE operations in the city that produced more than 60 arrests. One councilman called the federal enforcement an “invasion” and said the vote “sends a message.”

When Democrats treat immigration enforcement as an invasion and a police badge as a talking point, they’ve got their priorities backward. Public safety isn’t a tool for scoring political points.
