@Aurora56350054@ChiSox96@Ed_Miller73@soxmachine_josh@Rahimi_Harris@leilarahimi@mharrisonair Going to be expensive either way. Looks like Ishbia is taking the whole "make no small plans" mantra to heart so we'// see what happens!
I'm still trying to manifest a metra stop right at the new stadium so I can get to games from my house conveniently without driving ๐
@ChiSox96@Ed_Miller73@soxmachine_josh@Rahimi_Harris@leilarahimi@mharrisonair I don't think Jerry really has the will and power to get a ton done, but Ishbia is bold enough and rich enough to make a ton happen. Money and willpower go a long way and I think the city would very much enjoy a new entertainment district on both sides of the river there
@ChiSox96@Ed_Miller73@soxmachine_josh@Rahimi_Harris@leilarahimi@mharrisonair Any word on if the plan would be build over the track or just buy the yard? I would assume if they can build above rerouting the current tracks to Union to just move onto the current Amtrak property before straightening back out wouldn't be too difficult
@ChiSox96@Ed_Miller73@soxmachine_josh@Rahimi_Harris@leilarahimi@mharrisonair Yeah it's not official or anything, but to my knowledge it'd be a shock if it didn't. The bigger question is if there is another yard for Metra to move to that lets Ishbia buy the yard next to Amtrak or I'd he can work out air rights to build over the tracks for extra space.
@ridinnerdy87@thescorechicago There's no appetite from the public to subsidize the Bears and it's weird you're acting like people should be psyched to do so.
@ridinnerdy87@thescorechicago Going off of what the Bears say is laughable. They did the whole process ass backwards, have pushed their deadline back multiple times, had no Springfield presence, and are asking for something nobody wants.
@ridinnerdy87@thescorechicago Those are wants not needs. The size of the new stadium will be similar, it isn't going to be 90k lol. The Bears value grows regardless of being at Soldier Field and they have a lease. They have time.
