Honest opinions/analysis of the team I love. If you are tired of blind optimism and want to have real conversations or debates this is the place to have them.
Welcome in! Cubs Critique is a platform starting for myself and any of you to share the honest opinions about the Cubs.
I’m sorry in advance if I talk bad about your favorite player but I promise it’s not out of malice. 🫶

@TalknGrubb@mrsim21 If you would have seen any of my other comments I’ve shown JRam a lot of love and I do think he has been the most under appreciated star in the majors for a decade now.
This might just be… the least compelling final four teams I can remember.
Guardians stumble in because the only three good AL teams were all in the same division so they just had to beat a boom or bust Sox team.
Rays are a small market team that’s frequently competitive but outside of Junior Caminero… who are you rooting for?
Dodgers are the big baddie that no one wants to see three peat.
Brewers, outside of having the best pitcher in baseball this might be the most uninteresting and least talented 100 win team of all time?
@GarageGymJake Because Ohtani is already the goat and MLB does need some parody. I also think if the Guardians pitching shows up like it did they have a shot. Need JRam to keep this insane run going though.
@HonestPatriot17 Was actually just giving an honest initial reaction. When I don’t have a rooting interest I want to see great players build legacies (that’s why I want Junior and the Rays to win).
@mrsim21 Generalizing me as a sour fan because these matchups are uninteresting to me is the much more ignorant take tbh. Btw you forgot Junior trying to build his legacy by getting his first ring (which is what I hope happens)
@GarageGymJake I like basketball and baseball! When I don’t have a rooting I prefer to see individual greatness, sue me. That’s why I’m pulling for Junior to get a ring. Would be awesome to see.
@Jedidr123 Well my team is out but Bergman is a household name for sure. Seiya is a great hitter that should be in the know but probably isn’t nationally as much. I’m not doubting the quality of any of these teams. The pitching that’s left is great.
@brian_schaler The team games you would get from both sides would make it super competitive. Would love to see Junior get a ring if that’s the matchup we get!
@cishetguy Not disputing the quality of team. All the teams deserve to be there based on how they played in the post season. Just from someone who doesn’t have a rooting interest, there aren’t too many players that are must watch. Rooting for Junior and the Rays though.
A lot of really passionate fans commenting and I appreciate your perspective! First I want to say that all teams deserve to be there and I was looking at this from a broad national scope. Also, figured I would let it be known that I want to see Junior and the Rays win it all.
@scottrothmusic I actually do want the Rays to win it out of these teams. Junior winning a ring would be really cool and I always love seeing young stars succeed.
@gigs53202@Pat02960111 Manufacturing runs instead of just hitting home runs is the better way to go about it in the playoffs. I enjoy watching lineups find a way to get it done and pass the baton. The Brewers constantly find a way to get it done, that’s why they are still in it.
@ChuckyLibrary@gigs53202 They are great at manufacturing runs yes but the Cubs were first and got clowned by the Padres because they ran into great pitching staff. Brewers faced the same challenge and did enough. We will have to see if they can do it again against a good Dodger staff.
@DidAshbyPitch ? Brewers have been better than the cubs since Covid and I have no issue understanding that. The Miz is also the best pitcher in baseball rn I have no problem acknowledging that either
@bruceschoenfeld@millertime631 I’m looking at the matchups from a national perspective as someone who doesn’t have a direct rooting interest.
Guardians pitching awesome
JRam - awesome (still under appreciated though)
Junior - awesome (and convincing myself I want the Rays to win to get him a ring)
@gigs53202 The Brewers have been awesome but their offense isn’t going to scare a single pitcher left in this postseason. They find way to win games which is all that matters but who should someone fear? Churio? He’s hitting under .200 in the postseason.
