Maybe i'm exaggerating, but I’ve been thinking about it and I genuinely believe Cancelo has the most complete attacking profile of any fullback I’ve ever watched. Not necessarily the best attacking profile, but the most complete overall package.
He has everything you want offensively: dribbling, crossing, creativity, passing range, link-up play, and even finishing. He can beat players in isolated wide situations like a winger, or invert into midfield where he can carry, combine in tight spaces, and still influence the game at a high level.
He’s almost equally effective on both sides, has a very strong weak foot, clean first touch, and a wide variety of passing options include his Trivela which is one of the best itw. He doesn’t rely on one attacking method, he has all of them.
That’s why I’m talking about completeness rather than peak output. I just can’t think of another fullback who offers the same range of attacking tools in one profile.
