@McconnellEryn For me personally, the best part is getting a book to market, last Friday, after decades of effort.

@jdragsky One of the things I’ve learned to do in working with sensitivity readers is use narrative framing mechanisms that make it clear who is telling the story and why. I think you’ve really hit the nail on the head here on why that works and can be useful. Solid.

@dancow Totally fair and a great way to build community, important that reciprocity was available right there: they immediately offered to come fix the fence. My comment is less about what was happening in the op and more about why somebody might be triggered for an angry take on it

@dancow Receiving charity can feel demeaning. Think of it like micro aggression in the sense that it is a pain that may not be present at first but builds with frequent exposure. If you don’t know what somebody’s sensitivity to this might be, asking isn’t a burden.
