Congratulations to newly appointed Circuit Judge Chad Floyd! Governor Ivy selected an outstanding jurist who has served Cullman County well as District Judge for almost six years and who is extremely qualified to serve the people of Cullman County as Circuit Judge.
Due to the threat of inclement weather all court hearings for Monday 1/26/26 are continued. Individuals who received a summons to appear for jury duty that day shall instead appear at 8 am on Wednesday 1/28/26.
The People's Law School held its first class on August 16, 2025, at the Cullman County Courthouse. The program is designed to teach individuals with no legal background about basic court procedures and explain how a case proceeds through the judicial system.
As a result of an incident that occurred recently in another county, there has been some confusion regarding the obligation of nursing mothers to report for jury service. Actively nursing mothers may postpone their service by making a request on the website listed in the summons

was sworn in earlier today in a private ceremony by Judge Greg Nicholas. Her two daughters are also shown holding the family bible. A public swearing in ceremony and reception will be announced and held at a later date.
