This St. Patrick’s Day will be different, we will be spending it in our homes. Wear your green, post a shamrock in your window, put on the Irish music, sing an Irish song, dance a jig in your kitchen. Do whatever inspires you to celebrate the heritage and culture of Ireland.
AND Lets honor our heritage of Irish generosity, and be aware of the needs of people in our neighbourhood, the elderly and the vulnerable and help out where we can, during these challenging times. Lá Fhéile Shona Naomh Pádraig daoibh go léir. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all.

Did you know that carving pumpkins originally started in Ireland, as part a Celtic tradition on All Hallow’s Eve. Carved turnips helped ward-off evil spirits. Irish immigrants in America discovered pumpkins were a much better substitute. Happy Halloween.
The Celts have influenced many things in our modern world. As we prepare for Halloween, let us not forget that it has its origins in the Celtic festival of Samhain.

It was another great night of music at Richard’s Coffeehouse in Brockville. Tonight we were fortunate to have Alana and Leigh Cline who were on their way to Ottawa.
Alana and Leigh Cline stayed on after the concert to play some session tunes with the local musicians. During which we danced “The Peeler and the Goat,” as a tribute to the late Timmy “the Brit” McCarthy, who had taught us this dance at his Brockville workshop in 2003.
