The mindset of the locals who have never left Curacao is to be pitied. They’ve built up such anger and resentment inside, become so lazy and are so backward. They’re a very sad group of people.
I’ve heard a lot of times that it links back to the slavery and they have this inferiority complex about it but man, carrying a chip like that on your shoulder for over 160 years. Time to get over yourselves.
Only in Curacao:
Official warnings had to be issued that Tumba Festival was being broadcast and to only bring their official woman and not one of their bysides.
#tumba#curacao
I’ve seen people ask about Aruba v Curacao. The answer is simple - Aruba is much better.
People are friendlier, infrastructure is better and it’s much cleaner.
Customer service in Aruba is good, it’s non-existent in Curacao.
It’s not that they’re all that busy, remember it’s a tiny island. Just like immigration, beslasting etc they take their sweet time. They’re afraid if they move at anymore than a snails pace they won’t have jobs.
One of the massive downsides of #curaçao is getting anything delivered. 1st it’ll cost a fortune. They tax you heavily for anything you bring to the island. Then you need to deal with @CpostInt
Here’s how that’ll go, take a number and wait an eternity for someone to see you.
Curaçao drivers - where do you start? I don’t think anyone is actually taught to drive here. They’re constantly crashing, they go around with their phones in their hands all the time, none of them know that you need to indicate when turning and lots drive slower than walking pace
@MangusaHypermar where do we start?
The old men on the doors delaying you leaving, pretending to check if you’ve anything you didn’t pay for but rarely look in the bags.
The bag packers who have no clue how to do the job.
The food court the is so slow you need to wait an hour+
Women of Curacao think they’re gorgeous with their wigs or weaves but they’re not and then the dreadlocks and the miles of forehead 🤮
Mirrors must be rare
@AqualectraC are just as bad. They’ll send a bill, you pay it, then they send another bill and haven’t recognised the previous payment so now they’re demanding double. Then to add icing they come along the following year and randomly add 1,000+ XCG to the bill with no explanation
@FlowCuracao has gone down yet again. It could be for 2 hours or 2 days. Nobody knows. This is on top of their unique billing where you pay your 1 month bill this month and next month they’ll send you a bill for 2 months. They can never explain why
They give free goods or services to the right people or else just pay them in cash. It makes Curacao a very difficult place to do business as locals don’t want to work and unless you know who to bribe, it’s difficult/expensive to hire foreign workers.
It’s interesting to watch as some businesses are targeted by authorities checking for illegal immigrants working or tax compliance. But other businesses blatantly flout laws. Staffing almost entirely with illegals and/or money laundering. Their secret? Bribery
Why are reviews of Curaçao so polarized? The color of the reviewers skin. Black people are treated very well here, locals are friendly with Blacks. Latins are treated really badly. Whites will receive poor service and are sort of treated with fear or inferiority.
