Repost from Instagram, but I wanted to bring to attention one of the oddities of the #pablomatic show. This, despite the focus on Picasso's biography throughout the exhibition to call out his misogyny and general creepiness.

Physical is not the opposite of digital. I’ve said this a million times, I lecture on it tirelessly, yet I’m still surrounded by the false dichotomy. Why?
A speculative theory holds that Maria Vermeer—the daughter of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer—was not only a model for her father but also an artist who created several of the paintings attributed to him. Could it be true? Lawrence Weschler reports:

No one: I'd like a complete overview of the copyright status, according to the providing museum, of every digitised Vermeer painting featured in the Rijksmuseum's blockbuster show.
