We're proud to be displaying this 17th century sabre belonging to Hetman Mazepa in the Tower of London until the 3rd August, in collaboration with @UkraineWow .

The sabre is inscribed 'All my hope I put in you', reflecting the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of tyranny.

Today, this lovely painting by David Wilkie Wynfield of the arrest of Anne Boleyn went on display ⁦@Royal_Armouries⁩ ⁦@TowerOfLondon⁩. The setting for this scene was a room ⁦@hevercastle⁩ but Anne was enjoying a tennis match at Greenwich when she was arrested.

From one royal palace to another - the Grinling Gibbons horse in ⁦@Royal_Armouries⁩ returns from its summer holiday in ⁦@CVersailles⁩ next week. It will be lovely to have him back in the Tower of London.

It is great when museums lend to each other and you can examine works in a different context. The ⁦@MuseeLouvre⁩ borrowed Henry VIII’s horned helmet by Konrad Seusenhofer from ⁦@Royal_Armouries⁩ & also this 16th century study of a jester carrying similar spectacles 🤓
