To increase action and reduce time between balls in play, @MLB should encourage a predictable strike zone and fewer arms by:
(1) Allowing umpires to use ABS on every pitch
(2) Reducing pitchers from 13 to 11 per roster
(3) Emphasizing durability metrics in pitcher arbitration.
@PrideOfDetroit Well, that would be Ohio. The Indiana - Illinois thing isn't quite the same dynamic. But it's interesting. If they move 30 minutes the other way, no one blinks, but crossing a state line seems to change things.
@nut_history Note that he was on the ballot but the voters didn't bite. He had a shot. This isn't an overlooked candidate. What IS the Hall of Fame? It's a museum (which has a TON of Joe Jackson) and an honor society, honoring the game's greats. Does taking money to throw the Series DQ?
@michaelroot21@BBGreatMoments They went for a pitcher but his .333 ba / 1.178 OPS, 7 rbis and 3HRs were tremendous. He was also the tying run in Game 7.
Is he overrated? Honestly he's so highly paid and praised, he'd always be in the conversation but that's he never made a team better is easily dismissed.
