If this cycle hasnโt ended your trust in all social media market commentary, you canโt be helped.
21st century redux.
The future of America is 1990s Bosnia.
The future of England is 1970s Cambodia.
The future of Europe is 1940s Europe.
And everywhere else will be flattened by nature.
Hard for the 21st century mind to comprehend - people in the future aren't trying to get one over on each other, haggle prices, or offload inventory on a greater fool. If we both have something each other needs, its fair deal, and that's the end of it - global trade 2400 AD
On money: from 22nd century onward, the 'global money system' is barter. But it runs on a sophisticated decentralized model, with a dedicated monorail delivery system (you can't teleport metallic objects!), and some kind of escrow service...

Can confirm: Moon and Mars were visible from Earth, but not colonized in any way. Space remained as unexplored as today, no traveling through black holes or shaking hands with aliens. There was no circulating currency, credit system or digital money

At first glance I thought the gardens were messy, but it was actually a way of growing complimentary plants next to each other in a complex granular formation, rather than our monoculture/crop rotation method

The coolest thing I saw was a vehicle 'grown' in one piece of alloy from a single crystal, programmed to form gradated striations of different alloys in the same piece when frequencies are input. I saw no seams, joints or bolts, and even children could operate the process

Potential downsides - no makeup, hairstyles are gender neutral (everyone has a bowl cut), 20th century music is archived but not consumed, the main cuisine on offer is lightly cooked leaves and various jams/pastes.

50,000,000 global population, GDP no longer a measure of progress, and the closest thing to a corporation is a family of 15 people living in domes. You'll like the air quality, the organic food, and the rockery in the bathrooms.
Welcome to the 25th century!

@jamesbloom_ On the other hand, lets be honest.
The crises are likely to pile up until digital art collecting falls off the map.
This is what my intuition tells me, which is why I advise anyone in the 'NFT art' space to have another "food crisis proof" career in the pipeline.
@jamesbloom_ NFTs have 2 more chances:
1) If NFTs solve a problem, we'll see if there's appetite during a real contraction in global GDP (real pandemic, 300+ million dead)
2) Far distant future- NFTs integrated into digital monetary system
Until then, keep sleeping
