@DugBegley For the Red Line? I'm relieved to see that the station name is a more generic "Stadium Park/Astrodome." And I'm not worried about the Dome getting a corporate sponsor.
@mattlanza I would expect a geo-useful alert system to occasionally send us some from SW LA. I guess they assume bad guys can't figure out the Sabine River.
@gooddog32 @jen_rice_ Listening to KUHF? I'd swear they were running local stuff all morning, including numerous callers they gave up on because their cell connection was so bad
Made this Gulf Coast resident giggle. This "life hack" to save on air-conditioning costs is literally just living where you don't need it at night. https://t.co/QVtU31KGie
As someone who has some interest in seeing transportation in Houston improve, this seems an opportune time to point out that roundabouts don't need electricity to control traffic.
Disturbed by reports of H-Town residents harassing or even threatening contractors. They're mostly out-of-staters just here to work and help us get our power back, not the proper target for frustration. I swear -- some people never had a public-facing job and it shows.
@mattlanza It would be markedly less of a big deal if mail-in could be a general option. Otherwise, I agree with you as long as most of us are expected to keep showing up in person.
@CritiqueG33k@Didi81_ Karnasas also streams on Twitch and sometimes you might be able to catch them in a collab. I think he also contributed a little voice acting in one of Pearl's YouTube videos in recent years.
@mattlanza I wonder if there will be any placement deals behind the scenes. I'm skeptical that an app like this would be "neutral" enough to actually be as comsumer-friendly as people are hoping for.
AccuWeather app's latest update really blew it. Unhelpful notifications are more frequent and come with a new anxiety-triggering sound. So if there's a real local weather warning that comes, I guess I won't hear it....
@GTWScar You're not wrong. Imagine if visitors traveled around theme parks in their own cars instead of as pedestrians. The environmental experience of many design details would be ruined. Recent American cities have ended up mostly wasteland because of the "no one walks" assumption.
