Masters of the Universe was pretty good. It seems destined for cult status given how poorly it is doing at the box office but I thought it was an enjoyable movie. Worth a watch if you're not into horror and you can't find The Furious in theaters nearby.
…on their feet. Fingers crossed for a return to form at Xbox. The industry needs healthy competition and without them PlayStation has really let off the gas. The PS3/360 era was brilliant and if we could see something that resembles that again it would be phenomenal. (3/3)
In light of all these apparent Xbox layoffs incoming it is a stark reminder that games can be a very creative medium but they need to make money too. The mistake Xbox made was seeming letting the creatives spend hundreds of millions on projects…(1/3)
…they wanted to see without a concern about what the return on investment would be. A lot of people don’t want to hear that but that is the truth. In the end Spencer’s mistake was probably being too hands off. Definitely feel for those being let go hope they land… (2/3)
Watched The Furious last night and gotta say that was an awesome ride of a film. There are a couple moments where the action gets a little silly for me but overall enjoyed it a lot. Better than most action movies these days by a mile.
Xbox Games Showcase was very good. The problem for me is that I'm still not going to be an Xbox Series X buyer after this. I'll play E-Day and Clockwork Revolution on PC but if the goal was to sell me an Xbox it didn't do it. Lot of work for Microsoft to do there. B+
Been awhile since I went to the movie theater but went to see Backrooms this evening. Liked it a lot. More unsettling than horrifying. I thought it nailed the feel of the YouTube shorts. Recommended.
Summer Games Fest killed it for me. Code Veronica, FFVII Pt 3, gen Atlas, Blood Message, Alien Isolation 2, just game after game of really great looking titles. Been a while since I’ve been very excited about an e3 like event like this.
State of Play was a mixed bag for me. Wolverine looks great. Excited for ILL, Control, Onimusha and Tomb Raider. Laufey feels like a skippable DLC side story. Really apparent how afraid the industry is of GTAVI with everything releasing in Sept. B- overall for me.
Picked up The Dollars Trilogy from Arrow Video this week. Really great release and looks amazing in 4K. Fantastic Vintage Spaghetti Westerns. Free to watch on Tubi as well currently if you’re so inclined.
From what I've experienced Mixtape has a great soundtrack and some fun character moments but personally that's not enough for me. I don't think there is some grand conspiracy here to boost it but there definitely feels like a disconnect between reviewers and gamers on it. (2/2)
The conversation about the game Mixtape over the weekend has been really fascinating to me. By all means play it if it interests you but I find comparisons to games like Journey a bit disingenuous. You can watch segments of Mixtape and "win", not the case with Journey. (1/2)
There is a very strange dynamic developing over the last couple of weeks where on one side you have the AES+ capable of playing games that are 30 years old while Sony is now pushing you to connect to their servers once every 30 days or you lose access to all your games…
@Wingefors I would love to see Plaion partner with some of the amazing indie studios out there that have been releasing unlicensed carts up until now. It would be great to see their work officially released on this system at more affordable prices.
