@MsYorksClass I am currently going through a STEAM endorsement class. Our school district is paying for almost all the cost. I'm not sure if we will earn any higher pay, however, the experience has been great. It has taught me how to evolve as a teacher to better serve my students. #caedchat
@TeacherRunner42 We are actually doing something new in our school system. It is an online PD platform called Edivate (formerly pd360). We are able to do PD by watching videos and answering questions on our on time. Admin can even assign certain things to watch.
@ShannonWidener Me too!! I would say that's the biggest change for me in the conversion toward an I-STEAM way of teaching. I don't do chaos, and sometimes it does look like chaos. But i'm getting better at it. #STEAMteams@isteamprof
@Mr_Lisek That is one thing that we are having to develop with our students. Our students do not want to struggle. If they start to struggle, they just want to be given the answer. Anyone have any tips of how to get them past this? #mschat
@blocht574 I agree. That was one of the biggest issues that I have faced in trying to become a STEAM classroom. I have to learn to let the students go, give up some control, and realize that the students will mess up from time to time. #mschat
@BrownanBrown I think this could be used more in the classroom as a STEAM way of getting the students more hands on with content in Social Studies class. This kid definitely has a good grasp on the Titanic and the historical events that happened. #STEAMteams https://t.co/W4Mp91BZ8T
World’s Largest LEGO Replica of the Titanic on Display in Pigeon Forge, and it was built by a 10-year-old! Read the amazing story here-->>> https://t.co/nOdk97WpJn
With the work force constantly changing and becoming more automated, this is a necessity. A former job of mine used a computer program to control the entire process. Everything was controlled by programming and limit switches. #STEAMteams https://t.co/NbZK8nIoJt
I can honestly say that my school is very good about keeping "family" in mind for our teachers. I have never been frowned upon for doing something with my children. No child care options, but Dr. appointments, field trips, honors days, etc. #STEAMteams https://t.co/ldBIk7CMdP
While school initiatives to boost teacher retention tend to focus on mentoring, instructional coaching, or salary bonuses, they rarely address one of the most common reasons teachers leave: family. https://t.co/xVEJ7GOxLj
Pretty interesting article. I was surprised to see horticulture engineer as one of them. As population grows, we do need to figure out better and more effective ways to produce more food in a productive and safe means. #STEAMteams https://t.co/UrbGP97kTJ
@DrMAJM Hereis another cool way to do the Newton cars. I bet the kids would love doing this. They had fun with their other cars, so food would make it better. #STEAMteams https://t.co/lfxiwJDK0j
I have seen this first hand. It's all about relationships. Some of the students others have problems with, I never have an issue with. I try to build a relationship with them first. It definitely helps. #STEAMteams https://t.co/t5xGm4UfTE
This is another great instance where students put into motion something that they do with their hands and minds to help them understand the story they were reading. Excellent idea! STEAM is awesome! #STEAMteams https://t.co/Q6eHELPjcc
