American goes and inspects new build homes and notices a strange trend. The homes with the absolute worst workmanship always have empty Modelo beer cans everywhere

It’s a tell tale sign that cheap illegal labor is being hired to build new homes by construction companies

The joking term for these workers are “Border Brothers construction, Modelo homes, etc.”

Just look at this home… this is a new build that will go for over half a million dollars and it’s built HORRIBLY. Imagine buying this and all the issues you’ll have later

- A 2023 study found about 15% of the construction industry workforce is illegal immigrants. Many people believe this number is drastically higher
- 19% of construction occupations are illegal migrants
- They estimate there are roughly 1.6 million unauthorized illegal construction workers nationwide
- 2023 data said construction accounts for about 20% of all undocumented workers

If you break it down by worker the numbers are even more shocking

38% of drywall workers are illegals
39% of plaster workers are illegals
36% of roofers are illegals

1/ This one stings. Our team gave everything we had to get the Clarity Act across the finish line. So did most of the industry. This was an opportunity bigger than Ripple or one company - we did this for the industry, for consumers and to cement the US’s position as the crypto capital of the world and as a leader in the future of finance. Ultimately, consumers and U.S. competitiveness got left behind.

2/ A post mortem needs to be done on why this failed (more from me on that in the days ahead). The politics of the democrats (the anti-crypto army) was elevated over good policy.
