I’ve owned my own marketing agency for a long time.
My clients pay me to get them results.
But it’s a partnership. I love sharing wins.
The tools may change. But the marketing process stays pretty much the same.
Here’s what you need to do to succeed.
Copy and paste these simple questions and write (yes, write or type the answers down; no cheating):
1. What are you providing or selling, and who is your perfect customer? (Hint: it’s not everyone.). And how will what you do change their lives in a positive way? This is your brand and your unique selling proposition.
2. What proof do you have that it will change their lives or solve their problem? (Don’t worry about the size of the change.). But something needs to happen for your customer or why bother?
3. What are your customers saying about what you’ve created for them? If you are a start-up, you will need to do market research, which means giving away what you have to get proof and testimonials.
4. Where does your perfect customer live? This is so we can figure out how to reach them. So where is their home? Work? What media do they consume? Etc)
5. How much can you spend on marketing? (More than zero is best.) 7–10% of your operating budget is the norm.
6. What does success look like? How many new customers? More products sold? Engagement. This is called a KPI (key performance indicator). I also like to refer to it as the return on marketing investment, or you can even look at the return on ad spend.
7. What can we offer to get the ball rolling? Free trials, products, or services? Discounts?
8. Are you ready to grow? Can you deliver on what you promise?
9. How are you tracking success? Scale what’s working. Turn off what’s not working. Share the wins.
Tell your story. Build your brand.

I just used Seedance 2.0 to automate my entire Ad creative
What agencies charge $50K/year and 3 weeks to deliver now takes 90 seconds. One prompt.
Most founders are stuck in the creative death spiral:
→ Waiting 5 days for editor drafts
→ Paying $2K per 12-second ad
→ Testing only 2-3 angles max
→ Watching CPMs climb because they shipped slow
Drop 5-9 pages from any deck, one prompt, 12-second 1080p ad rendered in 90 seconds. Not mockups. Production-ready creative.
4 days building this. Results:
→ 6 production-ready ads from 4 client deliverables today
→ 0 editors in the loop
→ Every slide renders legibly on screen
→ Ad creative queued automatically for every deck shipped
How it works:
→ Marketing Assets CMS ingests every deck
→ Seedance 2.0 takes 5-9 source pages + camera, lighting, surface prompts
→ 12-second 1080p output, actual client content rendered legibly
→ Auto-queued for Facebook, LinkedIn, IG distribution
Reply "ASSETS" + repost, I'll DM the full prompt stack + the 4 working configurations.

My agency does the marketing for many kinds of businesses and industry associations.
We also manage the ad campaigns for several trade schools and association training programs.
The announcement today that the federal government is capping the number of international students in Canada will be very concerning to a lot of private and public post secondary institutions across Canada.
They are very, very reliant on these international student tuitions. Ironically that’s in part because of underfunding of schools by government (but that’s another story). However without the funds and the international students, local students may be impacted unless the schools can fill the gap.
My firm Curve Communications’ approach of finding and encouraging local students to enrol in our clients’ training and education programs has been very successful.
It’s an advertising and marketing strategy focused on content and celebrating students by warming up the target market with rich storytelling and using the powerful digital platform algorithms to serve ads to the right person at the right time.
If you are the head of enrolment for a school that might be impacted by this announcement, I’m happy to share how we do it. DM me or let me know in the comments.

Is This The End of AI as We Know it?
US President Joe Biden presented an executive order aimed at curbing risks and seizing the promise of AI technology, a strategy crafted with the help of former President Barack Obama.
But is it too little, too late?
In the same week, @OpenAI launched its most powerful and mind-bending version of @ChatGPTapp, which is cheaper, faster, and can analyze recent data and news.
It also will be a game-changer with a unique app development system.
The advancement of AI is as big or bigger than when we went crazy for the internet in the 90s.
All this begs the question: Can government legislation keep up with technology?
Realistic goals may lead to your best, most predictable growth
One of my clients is a local, cloud-based accounting and bookkeeping firm.
They came to me with the goal of increasing local leads.
They had been relying on word-of-mouth marketing and a very small, under-optimized Google Search campaign.
Using Google and Meta, I was able to bring in an average of five highly qualified leads per month at a cost of $200 each.
That may not sound like a lot but...
They have a really high close rate...
For math’s sake, let’s say it’s only 10% (it's higher, btw)
Their client lifetime value (LTV) is $50,000 (that’s their number).
5 leads per month (cost $1000/month) x 12 months = 60 leads per year and $12,000
10% of 60 is 6 new clients per year x LTV = $300,000
$300,000/$12,000 = 25
That means they get a 25X return on their ad spend.
Predictable, scalable and manageable growth for a solid B2B business.
So...
Invest in marketing and be patient and consistent.
For the win.
