A group of 70 Waste Management drivers and mechanics represented by Teamsters Local 673 in Batavia, Ill., has voted overwhelmingly to ratify a strong new Teamsters contract.

The four-year Teamsters agreement guarantees raises of $9.25 an hour as well as increased pension contributions from the employer.

“This new contract is already making life easier for the 70 hardworking men and women in this unit,” said Tim Custer, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 673. “Sanitation workers are some of the toughest people in America. This contract goes a long way toward reflecting the value they bring to our community.”
