Just an average guy. I love my wife, this country, cars and guns. Searching for truth about the reality of the world and life, and to share it w/others.
@bangerz I have. They're closet smokers and only tell their most trusted inner circles. Which you obviously aren't trusted in any successful people's inner groups.
@BGatesIsaPyscho I got bit by a Rocky Mountain spotted tick and almost died back in 2012. It's insane that such a tiny thing can kill a 225lb man. When I was in the hospital they sent a scientific researcher to my room and asked me a series of questions.
@tanpukunokami It's about time the rest of the world caught on. Some of us have known this for some time. It's been happening over decades but really ramped up over the last 5 years especially.
@RagnarcitoW@VirtudMental Nah, they need mowed over by an 18 wheeler. The faster these suicidal maniacs get the picture as they get wiped out, the faster the roads become a safer place for everybody.
Well, most of it is just like 3d puzzle pieces and diagnosing what's wrong. Knowing what needs maintained and when and keeping track of all of it. It's one of those things, unless you hire help, you always stay behind.
Even with my wife and mother in law helping from time to time, I'm the one who possesses the knowledge and skill to maintain it all and I don't know everything but I know a lot. Therefore I'm the only one who even initiates and knows these things. They're more my assistants than anything and i do teach them when I have the time, but I'm a busy guy. They help out in other ways around the property and so we more or less lean into our strengths to try to keep up with everything as a team.
It's never ending, but it's our little slice of paradise that we continue to try to manage and mold into our vision. It's nice to be able to go out onto our land and shoot guns whenever we want. We can take our boat out and cruise around on a lake and have a nice peaceful day. We can see the stars almost crystal clear because there's very little light pollution out in the country away from towns and cities. It's safe because everyone is similar minded and spread out and it's unrestricted land. So we are all basically our own individual entities/militias. We have more freedoms on unrestricted land than most anyone else in this country.
For me personally, it's a love and hate relationship trying to manage it all. For those who rent apartments and homes, someone else takes care of their issues. For me, I'm the one who does the electrical, plumbing, repairs, vehicle maintenance, lawn upkeep, chopping down/trimming trees, gun maintenance, etc. It's satisfying being someone who can do all of that and more. I like not having to rely on people to get things done. For those times I do need extra help tho, I have great neighbors who have more equipment. One day I'll get to their level, but compared to the average American, or human in the world, I definitely have more in my life than most.
I came from nothing. I came from a severely abusive home, with a family full of violent criminals. To be able to break the cycle and never have a handout from my family, to the life I have now, there's not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate what I have. I have a great wife who has helped me build this life, which I'm grateful for all the way around. I have a great mother in law whereas most would usually complain about there's. She helps out the best she can and I respect that. We're more functional than most families perhaps, certainly more than the one I was raised in.
So its about 50/50. 50% heaven 50% hell, but from the outside looking in it probably looks like heaven to many. The 50% hell part is just me knowing how much needs done and never seeming to catch up. That 50% is all in my head and I know that. When I take a step back and look at the life I have, it's all heaven. Especially remembering where I came from. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone's though. I wouldn't mind being just slightly richer, but I don't need or want for much. I have almost everything I want and need. I'm content and satisfied. Like anyone else tho, I struggle constantly to find a balance. That's always a day to day thing since every single day is different. Nothing is routine in my life. If I wished for anything really, it'd be more time in the day. I could use 36-48hr days honestly. Some days I do go 24-36hrs. Nothing great in life is easy though. Great things require sacrifice and resilience.
No. I paid for everything I have had since I was a teenager. I worked 2 part time jobs in high school working 40hrs a week on top of a full schedule of advance placement classes.
First car I bought was a 1989 Lincoln Town Car back in 2005 for $2k. This isn't my car, but mine looked exactly like this, color and all. 20+yrs later, I wasn't expecting my 1st car to be the best car I'd ever actually own.
5.0 V8 which wasn't powerful but for the time, it didn't feel slow. Power windows, power locks, power leather seats, digital instrument cluster, HUGE sunroof, and original factory cd player. The instrument panel would tell you all sorts of useful information like specifically which light was out. Had the auto tint rear view mirror. Absolutely most comfortable seats and ride of any vehicle I've ever personally been in. Massive trunk and still had a full size spare. You could fit 6 bodies in it probably 🤣🤣🤣. I did seriously fit a full size beer keg and a 55gal trash can (for ice to set the keg in) side by side in the trunk with room to spare.
I absolutely loved that car and still miss it. I didn't know how rare those cars would become, especially mine since it had every single bell and whistle except the air bag suspension. They're very hard to find. Even the less equipped options. The one I had in mint condition with all of the options I've seen go for around $30k. Needless to say I regret selling that car.
@SydneyLWatson@Billc1241 Except that it's been like for decades. I had ankle surgery in 2009 and it was $31k. Without insurance the price was $15k. It's always been a scam. That's why I'm glad my employer pays my insurance premiums. I'm not paying out of pocket for a scam.
We compliment those who deserve to be in order to encourage good behavior. Also why we berate and shame those who display degenerate behavior in hopes they realize at some point they need to stop and fix themselves. Unfortunately this only works on rational minded individuals and does absolutely nothing to the radical left. They don't possess enough brain cells to comprehend proper societal behaviors. So if you're getting high praise from rational individuals, that means don't change. You're doing great.
@tuuu28283 The only people in the US that would side with them is the radical liberals. Most of the sane and informed people were already on Japan's side long before the auto translation happened on X.
The transition will be difficult based on how people went off of the deep end during the lock downs. It won't be that extreme, but perhaps it will. They'll need to learn to find a purpose other than a job that many won't be able to handle.
On the other hand, people like me would benefit greatly because I could keep up with my property, spend more time with my wife and tinker in my shop, and create useful, cool, and fun things. I'd utilize the money in a positive and productive way which would improve my family's life.
However, I have a job that helps troubled individuals and I make great progress with them. They respect me and look to me to guide them to be better versions of themselves. I'm doing society a favor and am a positive influence.
I'm not a part of the corporate rat race which always felt meaningless. To produce things that ultimately just become trash and end up on some uninhabited remote island 1000s of miles away in the pacific.
Ultimately like all changes, universal income will have pros and cons. It sounds a lot like communism which never works. Meritocracy is probably the best model which AI will hinder in some ways, but I think will give individuals like me the opportunity to be even more creative and productive. It's the people with no discipline, no purpose, no hobbies, no families, etc that I'd be concerned about. Crime doesn't just happen because of desperation. It also happens a lot out of pure boredom and people will end up with a lot more free time on their hands. It'll make the good people better, the lost more lost, and the bad ones even worse.
