Part 5: And she’s out! Seeing red everywhere like a butcher stall. Very loud crying! Light weight at only 2.4kg and 50cm in length. Had the honour to cut her cord. Now she is her own person, unbelievable!
Pictures soon, if wife allows.
Part 1: Wife is admitted to the hospital now. Doing some admission paperwork for her, while she’s just resting. Contractions happening, but very low on the pain scale so far.
Part 4: labour went on for longer than expected because the baby was in the “anterior” position. A few heart stopping moments when the baby’s heart rate dropped to critical levels. The forceps were used to speed up the process.
It’s been a while since I felt strongly about work. That’s a good sign. But also exhausting…
I really care about maintaining the rigour of the course and not just allowing students to get certification for trendy low-code tools!!! Ahhhh
Catch me this Wednesday (13 Dec) 6:30pm - 7pm SG time on Zoom (link below) as I talk about the secrets(?) of game production.
This is to support "GameCraft!", an annual game jam organized by NUS Games Development Group

Proud to be an alumnus :)
Looks just like real life, but it was made in Unreal Engine 5.
This is the next generation of warfare. Instead of guns, bombs, and troops on the ground to topple countries, this war is being waged your mind and soul.
The video you just saw of beheadings that's making you call for war, could be made in Unreal engine.
The person you're arguing with in the comments about the government could be an AI bot.
The leader you see giving a speech on TV could be someone else entirely.
We have crossed into a world where anything can be manufactured or denied because technology like this exists.
This is the most dangerous time in human history, and technology is only going to get better and far more pervasive.
I created the Google Cardboard almost ten years ago but quit VR soon after to focus on Machine Learning.
VR is based on a ridiculous misunderstanding.
Let me explain why in this thread.
Educator’s POV: We should FIRST focus on building strong CS foundations, even in vocational schools. Sure, we can still teach Unity, but it could also easily be anything else later on.
I worked on an early, very different iteration of the @unity pricing changes ~1 yr ago
My thoughts:
1. Unity strategically had no choice but to make changes
2. Devs are upset, but it isn't quite as bad as it seems
3. Unity's comms & implementation wasn't great

I'm returning to games, this time as an educator / lecturer!
It's amazing how fate has brought me back to my "first love" - video games - but in a position that I have least expected or thought about before.
Excited to work with young minds!
After lifting a big project out of development hell, and then with many sleepless nights, proceeding to finish it earlier than planned - the entire team I led got laid off.
“You’ve saved us! But your project’s done, and we can’t pay you anymore”.
Glad to leave anyway.
In just a few weeks, I will stop working on games professionally.
And I am perplexed at how people are unwilling to hire because I am "from games". I've made complex things run at 60fps while your mobile app still struggles to scroll text smoothly.
And you are paid 2x more.
