@toyin_abraham1 Not even in Lagos alone but some rural areas in Ogun state. There are places for wastes but some people still dump wastes in the drainage and roads blocking the flow of water.

Woke up to rain in Lagos today, and flood is in some parts of the island. While there’s a lot to say about what the government is or isn’t doing, today, I want to focus on us, the people who live in Lagos.

Why do we block drainage systems and then expect not to experience flood when it rains? As a community and as leaders in Lagos, we need to stop this. Let’s keep our drainage systems clear and avoid building where water should flow.

How can we solve the flood problem in Lagos if we don’t change our ways?

And the government need to do better. If we have responsible government, the citizens will not run riot like this.

See This: Check out this video of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment cleaning Coconut Bus Stop on the Apapa-Oworonshoki expressway to prevent flooding. How can Lagos improve if we, as citizens, don’t change our behavior toward blocking water flow?
