Strengthening Cyber Policing & Emergency Response in the Islands!
Hon'ble Lt. Governor & Vice-Chairman, IDA, @Admiral_DKJoshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), inaugurated the cutting-edge Cyber Forensic Training Laboratory at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Police Training Institute (NSCBPTI) and flagged off two newly inducted Fire Tenders for Fire & Emergency Services in the presence of the Chief Secretary, @Andaman_Admin, @DGPANIslands and senior officers of the A&N Administration.
The state-of-the-art Cyber Forensic Training Laboratory, equipped with advanced digital forensic tools and investigative technologies, will empower police personnel with specialised skills in cybercrime investigation, digital evidence analysis and scientific policing in line with the provisions of the new criminal laws.
The induction of two modern Fire Tenders marks a significant enhancement in the emergency response capabilities of Fire & Emergency Services, ensuring quicker response, improved operational readiness and greater public safety across the Islands.
These landmark initiatives reflect the unwavering commitment of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and Andaman & Nicobar Police towards technology-driven policing, capacity building and the creation of a safer, smarter and more resilient Island community.

Sh. Ravindra Yadav, IPS, @DGPANIslands, visited the CID Unit and undertook a comprehensive review of its investigative, intelligence, and technology-driven policing initiatives. The review covered key operational domains including cybercrime investigation, crime against women, anti-narcotics enforcement, forensic support, intelligence analysis, and digital policing systems.
During the review, he assessed the measures being undertaken to enhance investigative capabilities and operational effectiveness in addressing evolving crime trends. Emphasizing a proactive, intelligence-led, and victim-centric approach, he highlighted the importance of scientific investigation, inter-agency coordination, and timely intervention in tackling cyber-enabled crimes, narcotics-related offences, and crimes against women.
The DGP laid special emphasis on the effective implementation of the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) and optimal utilization of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) to strengthen information sharing, investigation management, and criminal justice delivery. He also underscored the growing role of cyber security analytics, digital forensics, and advanced investigative tools in supporting evidence-based policing and informed decision-making.
Reaffirming the commitment of A&N Police towards modernization and professional excellence, he encouraged officers and personnel to continuously upgrade their skills, embrace emerging technologies, and contribute towards a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric criminal justice system.

Shri Ravindra Yadav, IPS, @DGPANIslands, visited the Coast Guard Headquarters and was briefed on the Indian Coast Guard's operational capabilities, maritime surveillance framework, and strategic role in securing the nation's maritime frontiers.
The visit included interactions with senior Coast Guard officers and a tour of key operational facilities, including the Operations Room and MRCC. Appreciating the professionalism and operational readiness of the force, the DGP emphasized the importance of continued synergy between the Indian Coast Guard and A&N Police in strengthening maritime security across the Islands.
He also conveyed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements made by the Coast Guard team.

A significant milestone for the Andaman & Nicobar Police with the introduction of Special Grade designations, honouring long years of selfless service by Constables and Head Constables.
On 29th January 2026, a Pipping Ceremony was held at the Police Headquarters, presided over by Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, @DGPANIslands. On this occasion, five police personnel were conferred Special Grade ranks-two Head Constables were upgraded to Assistant Sub-Inspector (Special Grade), and three Constables, including two Lady Constables, were upgraded to Head Constable (Special Grade).
Key Highlights:
🔹 HC (Special Grade): Granted to Constables completing 15 years of service.
🔹 ASI (Special Grade): Granted to Head Constables completing 25 years of service.
🔹 This welfare measure boosts morale and recognises professional experience.

Police Raising Week Marked with Successful Conclusion of SP Cup Cricket Tournament – Season II
The North & Middle Andaman District Police marked the 74th A&N Police Raising Day with the successful conduct of the SP Cup Wind Ball Cricket Tournament (Season–II) at Netaji Stadium, Mayabunder. Held from 10th to 16th January 2026, the tournament brought together nine spirited teams and was inaugurated by Smt. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&MA District, along with prominant dignitaries.
Winners, runners-up, and outstanding performers were felicitated during the closing ceremony, celebrating sportsmanship, fitness, and strong police–community bonding.
