Alyx is such an incredible game that it genuinely turns the "which is the best Half-Life" argument into a three horse race. It's also the only one that had me in tears at the end. The final 5 minutes of that game will live with me forever. Legitimately breathtaking. Also Jeff.
@Lunayian That would be wonderful, because I genuinely worry about games like Asgard's Wrath, Lone Echo 1 and 2, and others becoming trapped on the Rift store.
This doesn't fix that, but it does make them feel a notch less threatened.
I've been curious about haptic vests for ages, but couldn't justify one. Found a used bHaptics Tactsuit X40 locally for $175 and pounced.
No illusions about casual practicality, but pretty fun so far! Developing thoughts on what makes good integrations.
Excited to code for it!
@tom_forsyth Blender material tutorials: magic numbers everywhere, no explanation of how they were determined, or even why they're using that node.
_Once_ one paused to sheepishly admit they just kinda messed with the numbers to find one that worked, and I at least appreciated the honesty.
@dark1x The sprite-based games perform really well, and can look great. Red Alarm was a pure 3D game and ran poorly, but was hyped as a must-see launch title (polygons!).
I wonder how much the experience is that game impacted things (plus neck strain as others have pointed out).
I am once again asking you to not overwrite the contents of my clipboard if I accidentally press Ctrl+C with nothing highlighted/selected.
Likewise, don't ever automatically do it when I have some text highlighted and then deselect/delete that text.
@KazeEmanuar I remember going into that video come when it launched and very quickly was just like "what... the... f...?"
And then it clicked. I appreciate a good slow burn.
@AntonHand This is my bane. I'm currently obsessed with honey roasted peanuts as a snack.
Like, I understand biologically why were engineered so that stuff that's calorie dense tastes awesome to us. But, man...
@AntonHand I say it a lot, but working on and shipping a VR project was a dream come true for me. Very much looking forward to the time when I can do it again!
