Not all streamers have to run ads but affiliates & partners do!

In order to be affiliate/partner you must run ads whether it’s pre rolls, mid rolls, or both. They can’t be turned off without revoking monetization & status!

@FlexyFive Imma be real I didn’t think you’d see this cuz I also just tweet into the void LOL I’ve been seeing a lot of discourse about ads and saw your post and figured it was a great way to try to help out anyone who might be confused about ads and why people run them the way they do!

If you’re able I recommend Twitch Turbo to anyone who watches multiple streamers & would like ad free viewing!! It disables all ads on all channels & is less expensive than subs to multiple channels, great if you’re struggling with money but want to watch all your faves ad free!

Personally I do the minimum midrolls I can to disable prerolls, I play a lot of dbd so we push them until lobbies to be less invasive! We also often make jokes about the ads and try to turn them into a less daunting thing for viewers!
