A few days before the Anambra State U25 Rapid Tournament, I had the opportunity to train with a pro chess player, Omesu Miracle 👑♟️

Now here’s the funny part… 😅👇

When the pairings came, I was playing against the very same coach, and I had the black pieces.

🧵🧶A thread…

@ChrisDhood @titanschessclub That's a beautiful idea bro.
It will give you the exposure and experience that you need as a chess enthusiast

To stay physically fit and build strength, you hit the gym. But your body can’t function at its best without a healthy mind… and that’s where Chess comes in 😊♟️

Chess has always fascinated me, and I’ve always wanted to test my abilities in an actual physical tournament...

@KingslayerGM @titanschessclub Congratulations bro
It's still a win 💯

@DamienJosh56755 Annoyingly funny 😂
It's worth the experience tho

As @titanschessclub always says:
“Chess is the gymnasium of the mind.” 😊

And honestly, I think everyone should try this kind of gym. Your brain needs exercise too 🧠♟️

Looking forward to participating in more tournaments ahead 😊

Checkmate ♟️🫵

Even though I didn’t emerge as the winner, I have absolutely no regrets participating in this tournament. The experience alone was top-notch 💯

Checkmate ♟️🫵

Of course, I still had one very painful loss caused by a silly mistake 🥲😂
But I also delivered one brutal checkmate with a rook beautifully assisted by my knight 😈♟️

I played a total of 11 rounds .... won some, lost some, and learnt from all. One of the Chief Arbiters said something that stuck with me:
“In chess, there’s no true loser. The person who loses learns something new, and that itself is a win.”

That perspective changed a lot for me
