I'm a cyclist re-tweeting the constant stream of Tweets that illustrate peoples crazy, ill informed, and frankly terrifying, view of cyclists (I also own a car)
Today, @BorisJohnson has again declared that he is going to be “tough on serious crime”. By which he means he will make prison sentences a bit longer.
FWIW, I’d suggest that any politician who really cared about improving criminal justice might start with the following. [THREAD]
Rode in to work today, scourging the streets as I went. Went through Isleworth - scourged that. Rode up through Brentford - so much scourging. Chiswick has been thoroughly scourged. And don't get me started on Hammersmith - scourged to fuck. #scourgeofthestreets
CYCLISTS. Hit a pedestrian smartphone-zombie who steps into the road — you pay.
DRIVERS. Kill a cyclist who is cycling with full attention to the road — no charge.
This inconsistency makes a nonsense of the law.
I feel very sorry for this fellow. I haven't met anyone who thinks he could have done more to avoid hitting the pedestrian.

Mad things about this case:
1. The driver is seen laughing, despite the human dent in his bonnet
2. Josh is asked to find the CCTV himself before the police will act
3. If this was a cycle hitting a pedestrian, there would be ten detectives on it already
@nikkimcmillan_@CycleHatred 4/10. I like this one. Although I’m a bit concerned my bike is gay. Not that being gay is bad at all. I just feel I’ve failed as a cyclist because the bike didn’t feel comfortable in telling me.
Today's Twitter Poll: Sir Robert Winston is calling for all cyclists to have number plates/visible ID so they can be "accountable for their actions".
(On the back of him being attacked after telling a cyclist to get off the pavement)
Do you agree with him?
Nothing worse when cyclists ride in a group instead of riding in a single file 2 avoid been killed & having a good old natter without a care in the world. Meanwhile you're foaming at the lips driving behind them at 15mph. Get out of the way you fucking dickheads 😤
Today was our son’s first day of school in the Netherlands.
Here are scenes from his (direct, seamless, and almost entirely segregated) 2.5 km bike commute from Hof van Delft to Voorhof.
Small wonder over 80% of his peers also cycle to school every day!
