Here are a couple of themed rides to enjoy the wonderful sights of the Yorkshire Wolds: 'A Red Kite Bike Ride' -

and 'Hockney Trail: A Cyclist's Route', which passes a number of art galleries including the Robert Fuller Gallery https://t.co/QkKSUPJjSa
This painting was inspired by the sight of a red kite soaring over one of my favourite Yorkshire Wolds dales🎨🖌

“… perfect for cyclists, with regular breaks to admire some stunning art and architecture…”
Agreed. Sights include the work of John Loughborough Pearson, the Gothic Revival architect who also designed the glorious St Mary’s church, South Dalton…

Hidden across the Yorkshire Wolds are the breath-taking Sykes Churches; a trail of art, history and extraordinary craftsmanship.
This beautiful feature appears in The Pantry, our in-house newspaper, so if you’re joining us be sure to pick up a copy.
Bit of a change of pace today with a borrowed fat bike from Andrew at the Old Cog & Sprocket (Field House Coffee Barn, Tibthorpe), some off-roading, and a new ride buddy.
Refreshments at the Wolds Inn, Huggate.
All good stuff 👍🏻

Got lucky this weekend with yesterday’s weather. An early start and elevenses in Sledmere with a couple of ride buddies before they headed home & I went north to East & West Heslerton. Kept it steady & with no curfew got in a cracking, if loopy, ride 👍🏻

@ajdc123@FieldCampsite Hey! I think I may have chatted to one of your group - my mate was fixing a puncture - before we descended through the fog to Tibthorpe 😀
Now then. It’s been a while. Hoping to make it out to Sledmere, but defeated by the cold and thick fog. Still, good grub and drink on a catch up ride 👍🏻
Phew! Just needed a few minutes on the way back from a very hot ride to take a seat in the shade and catch some breeze. All under the watchful eye of a pigeon in the roof of the lichgate. Nearly home… ☀️
A bit of a theme emerged on yesterday’s rather warm ride: Scarecrows out in force in West Lutton and Skidby. Although to be nit-picking for a moment I’m not sure how effective at scaring crows the chap in the hedge would be 🤔
A twisty route:

@MTB_Cycler@ajdc123 Sounds wonderful, Michael. I can just imagine it. I do think about getting out for a few hours on a night - I managed it on Wednesday but it was earlier and across commuter traffic time. Somewhere between 7-11 I’m usually asleep on the sofa in this weather 🫤
Off the pace on yesterday’s bike ride, but picked up a bit after a coffee & scone in Bainton - and the prospect of seeing this award winner. Couldn’t find it! Instead, some Hockney bloke whose creator Richard spoke to on the wireless.

@dgc837 Indeed. The fourth time I’ve passed it in three days. There was a better scene yesterday on my way back from a longer ride - the cows had arranged themselves in a highly photogenic manner - but I was too jiggered to stop and get out on my phone 😩
