Let's not forget @StockportMBC isn't the only @greatermcr authority refusing to use the adopted #StreetsForAll Design Guide
The initial A560 proposals by @TamesideCouncil pledged significantly improved healthy options🚶♀️🚲🚍
This sounds great 👍
But...🧵
@cllrmattwynne What’s wrong with a route down the A6 - most direct route, should be safe to cycle along. SMBC abandoning hierarchy of road users to prioritise cars. Make the A6 safe.
Not again! I have NOT given my permission to be used in political adverts. This is NOT an endorsement by me in any way. I maintain strict party neutrality and am unhappy at the weaponizing of my reputation in this way.
While this isn't as bad as the first terrible representation – which said it this about tax - there's still a misdirection. As I’ve already stated, in that private conversation I was referring to Labour hoping to make a positive change I’ve been campaigning for, but it didn’t want to lock it in the manifesto as it can’t promise to deliver.
NO party’s manifesto tells the full story. ALL parties have things they hope to do but that aren’t in manifestos – as they can’t guarantee to deliver. The idea that Labour is an outlier for that is preposterous.

Not everyone has the ability to lift their cycle off the ground.
@urban_splash@TomBloxhamMBE this is your building - what can be done to make cycle parking more accessible?
Calling all current or former members of @GMcycling Campaign! You might think the Campaign was wound up a few years ago as things have been very quiet, but it's actually still in existence & a number of people are still paying subs by Standing Order or regular bank transfer.
they do stadium urbanism differently (better) than the US over in England. here are the ratings of the premier league stadiums.

We're want to inform everyone that from Monday 6th November urgent and essential work will be undertaken to to install essential gas equipment deep under Kings Road, Stretford.

Older people gain huge benefits from 20mph. Professor Charles Musselwhite delves into the topic of 20mph roads and their impact on older individuals in Wales in this interview 🚗🧓 #Safety https://t.co/0sNAGCr9VO
Designing activity out of our lives is something we have to guard against at all costs. This is an abject lesson in what over focus on one mode gets you.
A reminder for @RishiSunak that there is a 20mph limit on the A3212 road in the City of Westminster outside the Houses of Parliament. I guess it's there to help protect MP and Lords walking across the road. Too bad he wants to deny children across UK the same protection
There are lots of Conservatives who hold "British values" that include 20mph for most urban/village roads. Here is are a couple of them David Melding AM in this video taken at our 2018 Cardiff conf and Cllr Philip Desmonde at our 2022 Oxford conf https://t.co/Z01M7MGuXb
How our kids travel, is the result of choices made by past generations. In turn, those choices profoundly shape our next ones.

Noise is the pollutant that disturbs the most people in their daily lives; doing untold damage to their physical and mental health.
Cities that reduce the sound of cars become alive with new ones: church bells, chirping birds, and cheerful conversations.

If walking costs you $1, we all pay $0.01. If biking costs you $1, we all pay $0.08. If bussing costs you $1, we all pay $1.50. If driving costs you $1, we all pay $9.20. Via @thediscourse study.
This isn’t just about choice. It’s about who pays for your choice.
