Cyclists spend more locally, more often. This is always evident at @carlowfarm / @carlowmarket.
We are not Dublin, or London, but the same principles apply.
Picked up a bike (haven’t owned one in far too long) in the excellent @AltitudeIreland today, specifically to take advantage of the impressive safe cycling infrastructure being installed by @Carlow_Co_Co

@transportkev Honestly, I’m not sure. The left turn leads on to a classic murderstrip at the minute so not as safe to continue left as the design implies
Fun, safe, family friendly 7km cycle event in Portarlington on Saturday 30th April at 2pm, start & finish point at Solas Eco Garden Centre (rear/Lough Gate entrance).
All welcome to attend to highlight the desire and need for safer cycling #CriticalMass

The air quality sensor in #Carlow Town recently reported fine particulate levels of 66µg/m³. This is one observation but it would be a high level for a 24 hour mean. Check the graph for more information https://t.co/uunzwHmSgN
Can I ask those of you who never cycle what are the barriers to you getting on a bike ? And what would it take to convince you that two wheels are better than four when it comes to getting from A to B (as long as the distance is not wildly prohibitive)?
This was part of a presentation I gave to the Transport SPC at @wexfordcoco last year.
These are possibilities when @WexBug & groups from the @cyclistie Rural Cycling Collective mention Rothar Roads.
Wexford has almost 3,000kms of ‘L’ roads.
We could easily do this imho.
