He:
- Was driving an 11-tonne tractor and trailer whilst watching videos on Snapchat
- Hit two cyclists - killing a 53-year-old mother and seriously injuring her 19-year-old son
- Was travelling at above the speed limit for his vehicle
- Would have had time to see the cyclists ahead, as they would have been in view from a distance of 210m (690 ft)
He was:
- Jailed for 8 years, 6 months
- Banned from driving for 5 years upon release

Dear @metpoliceuk
Just behind this driver, was a police car. I alerted them to the driver's phone use. They told me to report it online. Excuse me? I am happy to do my bit to hopefully make the roads safer if you are not around. But if you are? That's your job, not mine.
This is a government with no targets for reducing road deaths and casualties.
Soft on road casualties and
Soft on the cause of road casualties.
Speed of motor vehicles is the main reason why there is not time or space to avoid crashes.
#20splenty where people are.
@MPSSpecials Sorry drivers behaving like idiots, and police and court NOT prosecuting appropriately is the real issue. I was t-bone with severe and life changing injuries, the driver got away with 5 points. That's a joke.
@gazza_d The driver t-bones me and gave me 8 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a mashed shoulder needing major surgery, and messed up life got 5 points. Court is refusing to let me see the report but only citing he was given full credit for his plea?!! Honestly wtf!!!
@JamesC0oP3R@thameswater Nothing. They will tell you that they restored min pressure in time. Even if you live on higher floors and have no water, it's not their issue.
@damianpadden@thameswater Obviously not... I was recovering from a major surgery and had to move to a friends because of supply interruptions last year, and Thames Water says "we didn't ask you to move so we won't cover costs" what a f joke this company is.
@thameswater Unreal, utter incompetence! You still haven't paid the compensation for screwing up supply in sw15 last Nov!!! and you lie through your teeth in order to avoid compensating residents. The quicker you go down and overhaul this profit greed organisation the better!
Just reported this driver. 50cm away at 22.5 miles-per-hour. This was without doubt a deliberate punishment pass because the driver didn't like my correct road position.
