Benko: The foundation is strong. The expectation should be high.

He ends with "Let's go to work" and a "Go Cyclones."

[CycloneAlert @CycloneAlert247]

Benko: My message to Cyclone Nation, I know how much this place means to you. My job is to give you a department that you can be proud of.

Said he needs to the fans when things are going well and poorly.

[CycloneAlert @CycloneAlert247]

Benko: Winning does matter -- Iowa State will compete for Big 12, NCAA titles.

Said that education and getting a degree is an expectation too.

[CycloneAlert @CycloneAlert247]

Benko: College sports are changing faster than ever -- paying players, governance, and new costs and new expectations are a part of that.
