You're just assuming that. You have no proof of this, only correlations. It might be the case that this is happening in some games, but you have no reason to think that of this game in particular. She only looks bad if you cherry pick particular frames of the trailer. I don't see what you see.
@LayoffAI@grok wouldn't this be expected, considering the US is one of the richest countries in the world, has huge social welfare programs, has had poor border and illegal immigration enforcement, etc. The US is just the best country to immigrate to.
I think there is both room for exploitative female representation in games, a la DoA extreme, and modest non-sexualized representation.
She reminds me of the protagonist of Control. A game which, while fantastic, is completely devoid of sexuality whatsoever, and rightfully so, because it wouldn't make sense in that story and that game. In that context, if you're going to go with a female protagonist, it kinda makes sense for her to look like "normal lady", rather than a bikini model. The same applies here.
She looks fine. Be mad about the Jack Quaid Cube.
@GloriousEggroll The blowback about her being uglified is completely off base. There's things to not like about it, but that is not one of them.
I think a lot of it is driven by social media grifters poisoning the well to make a quick buck.
The reason it was cancelled as you said is that the guy wanted to stay true to the source material and not turn it into modern trek slop, which is what the people signing the checks wanted. It's not worth the opportunity cost of not getting to make stargate into an MCU, so they'd rather not waste the ip.
